The crystalline waters of the Indian Ocean and pristine beaches are the epitome of tranquillity, creating an oasis of serenity to connect both with nature and oneself.
Mozambique is a land of contrasts with diverse terrains spanning powdery beaches, mangroves and a vibrant local culture with warm hospitality.
From snorkelling through vibrant coral gardens and diving among majestic manta rays and whale sharks to fishing (catch and release) for prized game fish, the marine adventures in Mozambique are exceptional.

“The exquisitely tailored experiences to meet every need and the off the tourist track special access that ROAR AFRICA has is impossible to find elsewhere. It’s something I will never forget. On all my trips with ROAR AFRICA, I was introduced to the most amazing people who became great friends. To say the trips were amazing would be an understatement.”

“We would not change one thing about our trip. We have been changed by our experience of visiting this beautiful country and we will be sending everyone we know to you to have the experience of a lifetime.”

“The intricacy of detail in every moment ignores the expanse around you. The entire journey is a tale woven of pride, a purity and an honesty that simply takes your breath away.”

A highlight of a luxury Mozambique journey is the Bazaruto Archipelago. These islands, mostly untouched by the trappings of modernity, create a spectacular setting for space, solitude and relaxation. Here, crystalline waters stretch out as far as the eye can see, dipping in and out of a remarkable number of shades of blue and the pristine beaches, swaying palms and luxurious beachfront lodges create an oasis of peace.
The archipelago is part of the Bazaruto National Marine Park, one of Africa's largest marine reserves renowned for its unspoiled ecosystems. The coral reefs thrive with life including over 2,000 fish species, whale sharks, manta rays and turtles. The archipelago is also one of the last remaining strongholds of the dugong, a rare and gentle marine mammal that is an extraordinarily special sighting.
Traditionally a fishing community, the islands became part of the Swahili Coast trading network in the 10th century. The archipelago was a waypoint for dhows carrying gold, ivory, spices and slaves from inland Africa to destinations in Arabia, India and beyond. Today, these influences can be seen in the cuisine and spices used in cooking, but also in the spiritual practices of the islanders that are a mix of traditional African beliefs and Islam.

The Bazaruto Archipelago and beautiful Mozambican coastline islands offer a serene and secluded backdrop for marine activities such as snorkeling, diving and fishing, adding another immersive wildlife dimension to your Mozambique adventure.
