For me, visiting Tanzania’s Serengeti is an experience that lingers long after I have left. This landscape is so much more than the vast moving herds which beckon the crowds. I have returned to these plains through changing seasons, in rain and dust, in the first light of morning and in those long, golden afternoons. I’ve watched herds gather and disperse across the land, lions climb up tall branches, and cheetahs move through untouched savannah. I’ve sat with guides who can read the weather, the grass and the behavior of animals with a fluency born only of a lifetime spent here.
