We were initially intimidated by the logistics of organizing a safari for our honeymoon. But once we found Roar Africa, all of the arrangements fell into place. The trip ended up being seamless and we had the experience of a lifetime!

Dear Deborah,
Our trip to South Africa and Mozambique was spectacular. South Africa, including Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Kirstenbosch, Table Mountain, Robben Island, Seal Island, the penguins, Villa Marta, Kruger National Park, Cape of Good Hope, was simply magnificent.
At Kruger, the game drives during the days and in the evenings were overwhelming. It was amazing to be part of the animals’ natural environment, and observe them functioning as if we weren’t there. People tell you ahead, but to actually see it does feel a bit like one is participating in a surreal situation.
It was incredible to fly from Maputo, Mozambique to the island of Bazaruto. I don’t think either of us has ever relaxed the way we did in Bazaruto. The scuba diving was fantastic, and the dive-master was the consummate professional. Diving in the Indian Ocean was really a treat.
We can’t leave out the food. The food everywhere on the trip was perfect.
And, Deborah, the “icing on the cake” was our guide Geoff. His grasp of the history, current and past, his passion, his insight into the political situation and his willingness to talk about all of these things with us, candidly, was simply wonderful. He is so articulate and bright, and the sharing of so much valuable information, while in Cape Town and the surrounding areas, was an added bonus. We feel we have a new and extraordinary friend, and we can’t wait to go back and spend time with him in another part of Africa….or welcome him with open arms when he is next in the states.
Kathryn and I have never taken a trip where we paid so little attention to the details, prior to the trip. ROAR Africa’s planning and execution were superb, and we thank you for that luxury.

We wanted to thank you again for putting together a super [South Africa] trip for us. Geoff is a great person and most knowledgeable. He probably did not tell you but he was an even better game park guide than our professionals. He knew all the birds and was the first to spot the lions and several others of the hard to find animals. We did not expect such service but are most grateful that he decided to drive and guide us through some wonderful country including the mountains west of Kruger [National Park].

Just want to let you know how much we enjoyed the trip. I loved the diversity of your country-it certainly was a wonderful experience. For the most part, my first experience with B&B&’s was great; everyone was so nice and certainly went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We had a great time with Geoff and appreciated his first hand knowledge about South Africa. I look forward to one day returning and doing a different part of the country. The [South Africa] safari was the best and I know I will watch the movies I took with a big smile on my face!!!!! Say hi to Geoff and give him our regards.

Just wanted to let you know what a fantastic time we had! Experiencing South Africa was fabulous and even better than anticipated! Geoff said I would love the safari and boy did I! There were several times when I became tear-eyed . Seeing the pride of lions, a herd of elephants etc. was amazing!!!! Loved all of the places you had chosen. Everyone was soooo nice!!!! Geoff was accommodating, knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful, funny and made us feel like we were related! His wealth of knowledge still amazes me. Eliot took over 400 photos and we will enjoy showing them to friends and loved ones. We want to thank you once again for planning a superb, memorable trip that we will treasure forever!!!

We have all now returned from SA after a very enjoyable holiday. The only problem was that it was too short! On behalf of my family and myself, I would like to thank you for the assistance you provided in organizing this trip and for selecting wonderful places for us to stay. We enjoyed each of them very much and could not have asked for more. I certainly plan to return to SA at some point, at least to Cape Town and so expect to hear from me when the next opportunity to travel to SA comes my way.
