Gonarezhou & Malilangwe Reserve

Gonarezhou National Park in south-eastern Zimbabwe is situated along the Mozambique border. It forms part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a peace park that links Gonarezhou with the Kruger National Park in South Africa, the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique and a number of other smaller parks. Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve is a private reserve alongside Gonarezhou.

The park is a lowveld region of baobabs, scrublands and sandstone cliffs. At 5,053 km² Gonarezhou, meaning "elephant's tusk" is the country's second largest game reserve after Hwange National Park. The park is divided into two regions: the Save/Runde area in the northeast and Mwenezi in the south-west. Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve is teeming with birds and wildlife, including rare and endangered species.
