WELCOME TO ELEPHANT CENTRAL
Nothing will prepare you for the incredible concentration of animals (including the greatest density of elephant in Africa) that congregate on the banks of the Chobe River and roam the rest of Botswana's third largest (and most diverse) park.
Nature has blessed Chobe with plenty of water and rich soils, resulting in lush vegetation that has attracted significant wildlife. Here you may glimpse the rare Sable or experience the wonder of approaching elephant as they cross the Chobe River. Four distinct ecosystems exist in the Reserve, further contributing to the diversity of game for which Chobe is known. The lesser-explored dry hinterland offers great opportunities for eland spotting. The Savuti Marshlands are known for the prolific birdlife (especially during rainy season) and for the yearly migration of zebra and the predators that feed on them. The Linyanti Marsh boasts large concentrations of big cats, antelope and wild dogs. Whilst the banks of the river itself - the Serondela area - is where you'll find elephant and buffalo. Chobe is home to four of the Big Five: elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo. The best time to view them is in the hot summer months when they seek out water en masse.

Savuti Lodge
Savuti is a very special tented camp located on the Savuti Channel in the north of Botswana. Interestingly, the channel was dormant for a period of nearly 30 years and only recently began flowing again.
